‘Kuwait Airways Boeing 777-300ER sporting the temporary National & Liberation Day livery’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: No strangers to bearing a new livery, one of the new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft recently added to Kuwait Airways’ fleet will see an additional change this month, with a bespoke design added to the body of the aircraft — in celebration of Kuwait’s National and Liberation Day holidays — 25th and 26th February.

“Kathma” — named after a town North-West of Kuwait City — is the third of 10 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on order that recently entered commercial service and, for the period of the holiday celebrations, will have the added image of “Kuwaiti children in National Day celebration” added to the fuselage of the aircraft.

The temporary design compliments the airline’s new permanent livery, which was revealed in October 2016 at Boeing’s factory, in Everett, WA, USA. The new livery is currently only painted on the Boeing 777-300ER fleet.

Commenting on the patriotic design, Haneen Al Fulaij, Head of Strategic Planning, Kuwait Airways, said:

“As the official national airline of Kuwait, we feel a strong sense of duty and pride in playing our part in celebrating our nation and its achievements with a worldwide audience. This is why, for a limited time, one of our Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will spread that message of celebration as it travels across multiple destinations on our international network.”

The temporary livery is part of Kuwait Airways’ wider National and Liberation Day campaign, Samana Kuwaitiya (“The sky is ours”), which has also been marked with a two-minute TV commercial — an inspirational homage to Kuwait, Kuwaiti nationals, and their individual and collective success.
