‘Kind-hearted’ officer dies in accident

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 28: A first sergeant of the Interior Ministry died when his vehicle toppled on Mitlaa Motorway. The remains were taken to Forensics for autopsy. It is noteworthy the photo of the deceased officer went viral on social media last year while he was giving water to a thirsty cat. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen and an expatriate were admitted to the Intensive care Unit of Jahra Hospital following a traffic accident on Leyah Motorway in Salmi area. They were referred to hospital via air ambulance.

Students rescued: Fire broke out in a car after colliding with another vehicle along Jahra Road, opposite Amghara. Firefighters, securitymen and paramedics were dispatched to the location after the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received information on the accident. The firefighters quickly quenched the fire while other members of the rescue squad guided the students, who were in one of the two cars, to a safe area. No injuries or casualties were reported.

Two cutting trees: In continuation of the campaign conducted by Environmental Police Department at the spring camps, two Arab nationals were arrested for felling Athal trees in Sulaibiya area and referred to concerned authorities, reports Al-Seyassah daily. She has been handed over to the concerned authorities.

Doing drugs: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti and his friends for consuming drugs, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily added, police received a complaint from the man’s wife that her husband and his friends were consuming drugs in the Diwaniya of the house and when a police patrol was sent, the suspects escaped from the scene.

Stuffed animals: Customs officers at the Abdali border post have arrested an unidentified Iraqi for attempting to smuggle into the country stuffed animals without proper documents, reports Al-Shahed daily. It has been reported when the man was confronted at the entry point with stuffed birds and animals he said the goods were meant for someone in Kuwait and that he was only a carrier. The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the authorities.
