Kidnap attempted

KUWAIT CITY, July 5: Police are looking for an unidentified man who is believed to be in his 30s for attempting to kidnap an expatriate woman, reports Al-Anba daily. The woman told the police interrogator from her hospital bed that she hitch-hiked a ride from an unknown person in return for money. Once she was in the car, she suspected the man’s behavior and she requested him to pull over but the man refused. When she felt his evil intention and that he was driving to a lonely place jumped out of the moving car and got seriously injured. Acting on information from passers by paramedics and police rushed to the spot and took the woman to the Farwaniya Hospital.

However, the Al-Rai daily gave a different version of the story and said a Kuwaiti woman in her 30s was in Ardhiya and a compatriot with the help of his son bundled her in their car and drove off. The daily quoting the woman said she took advantage when the car slowed down and jumped out of the moving car. The daily said she has been admitted to a hospital with several injuries and fractures on her body.

Ammo, drugs found: An unidentified Kuwaiti who was arrested in possession of military uniforms, 98 rounds of ammunition, a magazine and 11 narcotic pills has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department, reports Al-Anba daily. Without going into details, the daily said the suspect was initially caught inside the Jahra Industrial Area for violating a traffic law.
