Katropa ‘continue’ to reign Summer Cup ’16 – Burikat catching up

KUWAIT CITY, May 19: It is really getting hotter and hotter as everyone is rooting to be number one in this exciting tournament.

Still in the number one position is none other than Katropa with a total of 79 winning points, with Burikat trying to catch up with their 76 total winning points, followed by Mediacom with the score of 74 points and Monkies with 71 points.

The teams have their members compete by their group category of Group 1 to 5 and their winning points will be totaled for their ranking.

Group 1

In this category Monkies won 7 out of 10 games against Katropa. Henry and Ainur prevailed over Gerry and Leo 20-21, 21-8, 21-17; Ainur and Vasu clobbered Leo and Mathew 21-17, 21-9; Henry and Neil thumped Gerry and Edison 21-17, 21-13; Vasu and Gino beat Mathew and Richard 21-16, 21-18. Gino and Henry pummeled Richard and Gerry 21-13, 21-10 while Vasu and Henry tamed Mathew and Gerry 21-13, 21-19.

Meanwhile Burikat won 6 out of 10 against Mediacom. Anthony and Joenel smashed Jess and Subin 21-8, 12-21, 21-17; Joenel and Jet outclassed Subin and Rhommel 21-20, 21-16; Victor and Joenel outdid Medo and Subin 11-21, 21-13, 21-20; Jet and Roy hammered Rhommel and Sanooj 17-21, 21-17, 21-14; Joenel and Roy slammed Subin and Sanooj 21-20, 21-14 while Jet and Anthony outclassed Rhommel and Jess 21-11, 21-19.

Group 2

In this category Monkies edged Katropa by winning 6 out of 10 games. Choi and Ryan edged Ahmad and James M. 21-11, 15-21, 21-15; Ryan and Sheehan prevailed over James M. and Joel 19-21, 21-18, 21-19; Choi and Nhoy triumphed over  Ahmad and Bong 14-21, 21-10, 21-16; Ryand and James B. thumped James M. and Aleks 21-18, 21-14 and Sheehan and Choi outlasted Joel and Ahmad.

Meanwhile, Mediacom won 6 out of 10 games against Burikat. Rafiq and Tarek slammed Cris and Arnel 21-13, 21-15; Ding and Fred overcame Bonnie and Binu 14-21, 21-11, 21-18; Tarek and Nato defeated Arnel and Noel 17-21, 21-20, 21-18; Rafiq and Ding hammered Cris and Bonnie 21-20, 21-14; Tarek and Ding pummeled Arnel and Bonnie 21-14, 21-8 while Nato and Rafiq thumped Noel and Cris 21-20, 21-13.

Group 3

In this category Monkies and Katropa won 5 games each. Ambar and Jecker tamed Rami and Devvie 21-19, 21-20; Josie and Arjay thumped Apple and Heidi 21-20, 21-19; Arjay and Devvie flattened Heidi and Jecker 21-17, 21-11; Apple and Ambar smashed Josie and Rami 21-18, 21-15; Ambar and Heidi tamed Rami and Arjay 21-8, 21-18 while Devvie and M. Casas thumped Jecker and Glyza 21-12, 21-18.

In the meantime, Mediacom won 7 out of 10 games against Burikat. Zarah and Ano defeated Lorie and Rey 21-20, 15-21, 21-20; Ano and Ginard tamed Rey and Albert 20-21, 21-16, 21-15; Ginard and Brent slammed Lorie and Yna 21-11, 21-11; Ginard and Andy hammered Albert and Aqueel 21-15, 21-17; Ano and Andy outlasted Rey and Aqueel 21-13, 16-21, 21-19 while Ginard and Zarah thumped Albert and Lorie 21-16, 21-14.

Group 4

Monkies and Katropa both won 5 games in this category. Reem and Catherine flattened Aries and Mishari 21-12, 21-11; Aries and Michelle thrashed Reem and Mishal 21-17, 21-19; Kenneth and Dina slammed Yohan and Joy A. 21-16, 21-19; Catherine and Mishal outclassed Mishari and Michelle 21-13, 21-16; Dina and Aries thrashed Joy A. and Reem 21-20, 21-19 while Joy A. and Catherine trampled Dina and Mishari 21-12, 21-7.

Mediacom won 6 out of 10 against Burikat. Ruth and Reina smashed Chito and Florievee 21-6, 21-17; Reina and Melissa beat Florievee and Beck 21-12, 21-13; Julieann and Melissa tamed Jory and Beck 21-14, 21-15; Melissa and Ruth hammered Beck and Chito 21-11, 21-5 while Lourdez and Reina outclassed Gerrie and Florievee 21-20, 21-19.

Group 5

In this category Monkies won 6 out of 10 games over Katropa. Ric and Kim outlasted Maricel and Lilibeth 15-21, 21-17, 21-20; Rain and Talal hammered Remy and Vivian 21-19, 21-17; Kim and Rain slammed Lilibeth and Remy 21-10, 21-10; Talal and Ric clobbered Vivian and Maricel 21-10, 21-8 while Talal and Kim outclassed Vivian and Lilibeth 21-10, 21-10.

Burikat and Mediacom tied in this categroy winning 5 each. Arman and Lhen Lhen hammered Donz and Mylene 21-16, 21-14; Lhen Lhen and Allyn trampled Mylene and Krista 21-7, 21-9; Allyn and Amor clobbered Krista and Ninette 21-14, 21-17; Kingsheen and Donz thumped Ross and Arman 21-10, 21-10; Ninette and Donz pummeled Amor and Arman 21-14, 21-17 while Kingsheen and Mylene tamed Ross and Lhen Lhen 21-10, 21-10.
