Suad’s role in reviving Arab theater hailed

AMMAN, April 28, (KUNA): The International Festival of Liberal Theater acclaimed on Saturday Suad Abdullah, a Kuwaiti actress, as a guest of honor of the event which kicked off yesterday. The honoring comes in recognition of Suad’s role in reviving the Arab theater.

Jordanian Prime Minister’s representative and culture minister Mohammad Abu Rumman delivered the plaque to the Kuwaiti artist, in the presence of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Al-Daihani. Speaking to KUNA in a statement, Suad lauded the festival, which mirrors varied culture of many Arab and foreign theatric artists.

Meanwhile, Al-Dahani said honoring Suad is a tribute to the State of Kuwait, which is a pioneering country in the field of culture and art, thanks to the official interest in this sector. He praised the festival, saying Jordan brings together the Arabs and all people all over the world that are interested in this event. Some other artists were also honored in the festival, which includes eight performances from some countries. The festival, which runs until May 8, features several performances from the Arab region and beyond, including Kuwait’s “Raya and Sakina.”
