Jordanian accountant arrested for forgery, embezzlement

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: An accountant of Jordanian nationality working at the Public Authority for Social Security was arrested for forgery and embezzlement. In a press statement, the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media of Ministry of Interior explained that the new management of the authority has been carrying out regular inspections. During one such inspection, they discovered that one of the accountants falsified authorization of payment with the cooperation of outside parties. Investigations were immediately launched by the General Department for Criminal Evidences. After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, the suspect was arrested. When questioned, he confessed to the crime. He was referred to the concerned authorities for further investigations.

Landmine blast: A landmine exploded under the vehicle of a Saudi national while he was driving in Khabari Al-Awazem area. No injuries to the motorist were reported but his vehicle was damaged. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information that a bomb exploded under a vehicle carrying Saudi number plate in Khabari Al-Awazem area, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location. They discovered that the motorist was not hurt but his vehicle was damaged. The bomb squad was summoned to the location and they checked the area but did not find any other landmines. Investigations revealed that the exploded landmine was a remnant of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Necessary action was taken.

 Kuwaiti doing drugs held: The Ahmadi police have arrested a Kuwaiti for consuming drugs, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the man was wanted by law and had been sentenced in absentia to seven years imprisonment in a kidnapping case and consuming drugs. The suspect was caught in the suburb of Ali Sabah Al-Salem. He was initially arrested for reckless driving. He has been handed over to the General Department for Drugs Control.
