Italy seeks to develop youth, sports co-op with Kuwait

ROME, Nov 14: President of the Italian National Olympic Committee Giovanni Malago affirmed the desire to develop cooperation with the State of Kuwait in all youth and sports fields, in addition to exchanging visits with the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee. The Embassy of the State of Kuwait to Italy said in a statement received by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday that this came during the meeting of the Chairman of the Committee with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Rome Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah, after the match between Italy and Switzerland in the World Cup qualifiers.

The statement said that Malago reviewed with Ambassador Azzam Al-Sabah opportunities to develop sports relations with the State of Kuwait in cooperation with the Kuwait Olympic Committee in all fields by benefiting from advanced technical and professional expertise in all games. Malago stressed his special keenness to consolidate forms of cooperation between the two Olympic committees in Italy and Kuwait through bilateral initiatives and events and organizing training camps in Italy for Kuwaiti teams and clubs for all games. For his part, Ambassador Sheikh Azzam Al-Sabah expressed his appreciation for the forms of sports cooperation with Italy and for benefiting from its distinguished expertise, which was successfully embodied in Kuwait’s experience and achievements in shooting sports, stressing the unique role of sports as a global language that transcends borders and barriers to communication between peoples, especially young people.
