Iranian pirate who attacked Egyptian sailors arrested – Indian duo held with 160 liquor bottles

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: An Iranian pirate was arrested and referred to State Security for attacking some Egyptian sailors in Kuwaiti territorial waters, reports Al-Anba daily. According to sources, one of the Egyptians is critically injured and admitted in a hospital for treatment. Investigations are ongoing to determine how the pirate managed to enter the Kuwaiti territorial waters without being detected and if he has any accomplices. Meanwhile, the Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Yasser Atif said the victims are all in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. He explained that an employee from the Egyptian consulate in Kuwait rushed to Sharq Police Station after the embassy received information about the pirate attack and has been following up with the investigations. The ambassador commended the officials for their transparency in investigations.

Indian duo held: Officers from Ahmadi Security Directorate arrested two Indian expatriates in Mahboula area in possession of 160 bottles of local liquor. The officers were on a round of the area late at night when they spotted a Japanese-made vehicle parked in a suspicious location and approached the driver and his compatriot for checking. They recovered 160 bottles of localmade liquor which was hidden in a box at the backseat of the car. The suspects with the contraband were referred to relevant authorities for necessary action. Meanwhile, security operatives apprehended a GCC national in Fintas area for possessing half bottle of imported liquor and a piece of cigarette stuffed with hashish.

Citizen stabbed: An unknown individual crashed his sports car into the car of a Kuwaiti citizen, attacked him and stabbed his right hand using a sharp object. According to security sources, the Kuwaiti citizen filed a case at Sabah Al-Nasser Police Station and provided securitymen with details of the suspect and his vehicle, explaining that he was at a signal stop on Sabah Al-Nasser Road when a sports car hit his car from behind. When he stepped out of his vehicle, the other driver started abusing him and a quarrel broke out between them.
