What instigated Abu Anwar to join IS? – Family efforts useless

KUWAIT CITY, April 17: From South Surra in Kuwait he went to Iraq, Turkey and the United States to study science technology and ended up in adopting the DAESH technology and finally lost his life when he blew himself up in Iraq targeting the HASHD forces, reports Al-Rai daily.

Abdulaziz, a.k.a. as Abu Anwar, who had joined the Islamic State reportedly blew himself killing several people. Salafi preacher Hai Al-Hai spoke of desperate attempts to convince Abu Anwar to return to Kuwait but his reply always was ‘We shall fight you in Kuwait to liberate it from you’. Al-Hai said Abu Anwar was seen fighting alongside DAESH in Iraq about two months ago.

Al-Hai stressed Abu Anwar knew nothing or had little knowledge about the teachings of Islam because he was never taught about religion. He also said the family of Abu Anwar did the best to discourage him to prevent him following this path. It has been reported the State Security police in Kuwait had summoned for interrogation some time ago several of his family members after receiving secret information that he had left the US to join DAESH.

Investigations at that time revealed Abu Anwar had no links to any extremist groups and that communication with the DAESH organization was through the use of websites during the period of his stay in the US.
