Indians held with liquor; 2 Arab beggars arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: An Asian expatriate was arrested in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh area in possession of 15 bottles of locally manufactured liquor, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling the area when they suspected a Japanese-made vehicle and ordered the Asian driver to pull over.

They checked his details and discovered he is an Indian expatriate. They checked his vehicle and found the liquor bottles in the trunk of his vehicle.

When questioned, he confessed that he was planning to deliver the liquor bottles to his friends who will sell them to his clients. He was arrested and referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Beggars arrested: Jahra securitymen arrested two Arab beggars in Wara market. The beggars claimed that they were sick and they need money because they cannot afford the cost of treatment. The officers later found in the beggars’ possession an undisclosed amount of cash, three gold rings and forged medical certificates.

During interrogation, the officers discovered that one of the beggars entered the country on visit visa while the other holds a dependent visa. A case was registered and the beggars were referred to the concerned security department.
