Indian held with 60 bottles liquor – Booze for sale: suspect

KUWAIT CITY, July 1: An Indian expatriate was arrested in Khaitan area in possession of 60 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling Khaitan area when they noticed a man sitting inside a vehicle that was parked in front of a building. They checked his details to discover he is an Indian expatriate.

They checked his vehicle to find 60 bottles of locally manufactured liquor inside the trunk of his vehicle. When questioned, he confessed that he was planning to sell the liquor to his clients in the area. He was arrested and referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, fire engulfed an electric generator in Haiteen without causing injuries or casualties, Says Al-Seyassah. Firefighters, securitymen and medical emergency workers rushed to the location after the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received information about the fire incident. The fire-out operation was completed within a short span of time.

No casualties or injuries were reported but the fire is said to have led to material losses. Preliminary investigations revealed that electric short circuit caused the fire. In another incident, an abandoned Kalashnikov gun and few bullets were discovered near a roundabout in Shamiya area on June 29, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

According to security sources, securitymen were patrolling Shamiya area when they discovered the weapon and bullets. They immediately notified the General Department for Weapons Investigations. Officers from the department rushed to the location and confiscated the Kalashnikov and bullets. Investigations have been launched to determine the identity of the individual who dumped the weapon
