Indian commits suicide; Bangladeshi assaulted

KUWAIT CITY, June 18:An Indian expatriate ended his life with a red rope tied to a heavy-duty vehicle on King Fahad Motorway. A security source said a Syrian expatriate notified the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry about the lifeless body of a man dangling from a trailer tail on the King Fahad Motorway in an apparent suicide. Acting on information, a team of rescue officers went to the scene and Criminal Evidences Men referred the body to Forensics for autopsy. Meanwhile, the remains of a 34-year-old Kuwaiti who died inside his house in Sabahiya area were taken to Forensics to determine the cause of death. A case was registered.

Bangladeshi assaulted: A Syrian expatriate hit a Bangladeshi man repeatedly with a piece of iron during a fight incited by former dispute in Hawalli area. The Bangladeshi man went to Hawalli Police Station to file a case against the Syrian and supported his  claim with medical report. He said passersby intervened to stop the Syrian from hitting him any further with the iron. Measures have since been taken to invite the accused for questioning. Meanwhile, a Syrian woman lodged a complaint against the husband and accused him of beating. She said the man physically assaulted her during a quarrel that happened half an hour before Iftar. A case was registered.
