Illegal expats staying on rooftops arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: Securitymen from the Capital Governorate have arrested 18 people of various nationalities who were staying in tin houses on the rooftop of residential buildings overlooking Mubarakiya, reports Al- Rai daily. The daily added, the arrest came after police received a tip-off from undisclosed sources that people wanted by law were taking shelter on rooftops. The sources added following a check through fingerprint data, reports showed they were wanted by law in connection with various types of offences. According to the sources a citation has been issued against the landlord of the building and threatened to cut power and water supply of residential apartments who rent out rooms on rooftops.

Woman dies in buggy accident: A Kuwaiti woman died when her buggy toppled in Al-Zour camping area. According to security sources, the woman was rushed to the nearest hospital after the accident but she died before arrival and did not respond to any of the resuscitation attempts. The corpse was referred to the Forensics Department and a case was registered for investigations. Meanwhile, Ahmadi securitymen seized 54 buggies during a security campaign in Julai’a camping area. According to security sources, Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa formed a security team after receiving information from several owners of camps about a group of youths riding their buggies in reckless manner that endangers the lives of people around them. The team launched an intensive campaign in Julai’a camping area and seized 54 buggies which were referred to the garage of Kuwait Municipality. Sources affirmed that securitymen will continue to launch such campaigns throughout Kuwait for upholding the security and safety of Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates

Cheat woman caught: The Ahmadi police have arrested and handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department a Kuwaiti woman who had been sentenced in absentia in connection with five financial frauds, reports Al- Rai daily. The daily added, the woman was caught during a security campaign in Fahaheel.
