KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22, (Agencies): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Seif Palace on Monday His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. His Highness the Amir also received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, and participating chiefs of staff of members of the US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS), currently in a meeting hosted in Kuwait.
His Highness the Amir praised international efforts exerted by the coalition in combating terrorism and preserving peace and security, wishing them success in achieving stability in the world. The meeting was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah and US Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff General Joseph Francis Dunford.
Dunford delivered a speech during the meeting, praising Kuwait’s role and efforts exerted by the coalition, and congratulated Kuwait on its National holidays. Kuwaiti Army Chief of Staff Lt Gen Mohammad Khaled Al-Khuder stressed Monday the need to redouble efforts and seek immediate plans to eliminate the terrorist organizations. “We should intensify efforts with other countries to tackle terrorism practiced by those organizations which threaten the security and stability of all nations”, said Al-Khuder at the 8th meeting of chiefs of staff of members of the US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) held in Kuwait.
During his speech, Al-Khuder conveyed greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah to the participants, wishing them a pleasant stay in Kuwait, and further success in the meeting. He voiced pride over naming His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a “Humanitarian Leader” and proclaiming Kuwait as a “Humanitarian Center”. He stressed that these terrorist organizations do not reflect Islam’s real teachings and virtues. Al-Khuder urged the members to take advantage of this conference, which was attended by 29 countries to exchange views and move forward in the fight against terrorism in all its forms.
