HH Amir congratulates Al-Fadhli on winning sabre event at international fencing

Kuwait’s Al-Fadhli stabs his way to gold at World Junior Fencing Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah sent Sunday a cable of congratulations to Mohammad Al-Fadhli for winning the men’s sabre event at the Junior World Fencing Championships in Tehran. His Highness the Amir praised this achievement and wished him success to continue his sports performance and more achievements to raise Kuwait’s name in various regional and international sports forums.

His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al- Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables marking the occasion.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Al-Fadhli of Kuwait has won the men’s sabre event at the Junior World Fencing Championships in Tehran.

The left-handed 15 year-old recorded a clean 100 percent win over two rounds against Belarusian Maksim Pinchuk in the final of the competition recognised by fencing’s world body, FIE. The accomplishment was deemed “unprecedented for Kuwaiti fencing” by the head of the committee overseeing the sport in Kuwait, Abdullah Al-Waalan. The youngster, ranked 14th globally, made the achievement amongst some of the top fencers
