Hashish, cell phones and knives seized in raid on Central Prison

KUWAIT CITY, May 18: During a raid at the Central Prison, upon instructions from the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of Defense, Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid, the securitymen have seized phones and charging cables, hashish and shabu and various kinds of narcotic substances from the prison wards, reports Al-Anba daily. This came after the prison guards received information that some prisoners were in possession of prohibited items in their cells.

Accordingly, the prisoners were monitored, information was collected, and the places where the prohibited items were hidden following which personnel from the correctional institutions and private security sector were informed, and a team was formed to raid the prison. During the raid a number of prisoners were found in possession of narcotics, mobile phones and knives. They have been referred for investigation and cases are registered against them.
