KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: The Kuwait Meteorological Department said that the country is affected by a rainy situation that began gradually during the early hours of Monday and will continue until noon on Tuesday. The weather forecast observer at the administration, Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the country is affected by a surface depression accompanied by a moist air mass that coincides with a deep depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Al-Qarawi added that this leads to the proliferation of low and medium clouds, interspersed with some cumulus clouds, accompanied by light to medium rains that may be heavy in some areas. He mentioned that there are opportunities for hailstones to fall with activity in winds reaching speeds of more than 50 kilometers per hour, with a decrease in horizontal visibility in some areas and a rise in sea waves of more than 7 feet.

Al-Qarawi expected that the weather would gradually improve, starting from Tuesday afternoon, when clouds will decrease and the chances of rain will recede, with the progression of an air elevation accompanied by a cold air mass, as the weather will be cold during the day and cold to very cold at night, especially over open areas with chances of fog formation. The Public Relations and Media Department of the Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) called on citizens and residents to exercise caution due to the unstable weather conditions in the country, reports Al-Rai daily. In the event of emergency residents and citizens are requested to call 112. (Agencies)
