Golden State still unbeaten at home – Nowitzki passes Shaq for sixth in scoring list

OAKLAND, California, Dec 24, (AP): Klay Thompson scored 20 points, Stephen Curry had 16 points and nine assists and the Golden State Warriors remained unbeaten at home with a 103-85 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Andrew Bogut added 10 points and 13 rebounds, and Draymond Green had 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Warriors (27-1) in their final tuneup before an NBA Finals rematch against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas.

Golden State led by 10 with less than 6 minutes remaining before Curry’s second 3-pointer sparked a 14-5 run to help the Warriors seal the victory. It was their 13th in a row at home this season and the 31st consecutive win at Oracle Arena dating to last season ‚Äî an ongoing franchise record.

Derrick Favors had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Jazz. They have lost five of seven.

Mavericks 119, Nets 118, OT

In New York, Dirk Nowitzki moved past Shaquille O’Neal into sixth place on the NBA’s career scoring list, then made the go-ahead basket with 19.2 seconds left in overtime in Dallas’ victory over Brooklyn.

J.J. Barea had a career-high 32 points and added a season-best 11 assists for the Mavericks. Nowitzki scored 22 points, giving him 28,609 in his career, and Wesley Matthews finished with 17.

Thaddeus Young had a season-best 29 points for the Nets.

The Mavericks led by 16 in the first half, trailed by 11 in the fourth quarter, and the game went to OT when Young followed Barea’s three-point play with a 3-pointer to tie it at 108, then blocked Barea’s shot on the final possession.

Cavaliers 91, Knicks 84

In Cleveland, LeBron James scored 24 points, including three key baskets down the stretch, and Cleveland beat short-handed New York.

Knicks star Carmelo Anthony didn’t play because of a sprained right ankle. New York went scoreless for nearly 4 minutes after taking an 82-80 lead.

Kevin Love added 23 points with 13 rebounds for Cleveland.

James’ layup off a turnover gave the Cavs the lead for good at 84-82 with 3:15 remaining.

Bucks 113, 76ers 100

In Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo made his first 11 shots to finish with 22 points, Khris Middleton added 21 on 8-of-9 shooting and Milwaukee beat hapless Philadelphia.

Philadelphia fell to an astonishing 1-30, including 0-18 on the road, and lost its 12th straight game.

Jahlil Okafor led the 76ers with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Spurs 108, Timberwolves 83

In Minneapolis, Kawhi Leonard had 19 points and six rebounds and San Antonio beat Minnesota.

Danny Green broke out of a season-long shooting slump with 11 points, including 3 for 4 from 3-point range, and seven rebounds in the seventh straight victory for the Spurs (25-5). San Antonio outrebounded Minnesota 47-31 and outscored the Wolves 54-24 in the paint to breeze to the win.

Karl-Anthony Towns had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves (11-18). Zach LaVine scored 17 points, but the Wolves were just 3 of 10 from 3-point range while the Spurs went 10 for 24.

Thunder 120, Lakers 85

In Los Angeles, Russell Westbrook had 23 points, eight assists and eight rebounds and Oklahoma City steamrolled Los Angeles for the second time in five days.

Kevin Durant added 21 points for the Thunder in a rematch of their game at Oklahoma City, when they trounced the Lakers 118-78.

Kobe Bryant didn’t play that night because of a sore right shoulder, but his presence made little difference this time, as the Thunder blew the game wide open with a 22-0 burst during the first 5:21 of the third quarter to build a 79-46 lead. Bryant had 19 points on 7-of-22 shooting.

Magic 104, Rockets 101

In Orlando, Fla, Evan Fournier hit a short bank shot with 14.2 seconds left and Tobias Harris made two free throws with 1.1 seconds remaining in Orlando’s victory over Houston.

Nik Vucevic had 21 points to help the Magic win for fifth time in six games.

Marcus Thornton’s 3-pointer missed at the final horn, ending Houston’s three-game winning streak. James Harden scored 10 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Rockets.

Kings 108, Pacers 106

In Indianapolis, DeMarcus Cousins scored 25 points and had a season-high 16 rebounds, Darren Collison added a season-high 24 points and Sacramento held off Indiana.

Rajon Rondo had 13 points and 16 assists to help the Kings (12-17) win for the fifth time in seven games. Indiana had a chance to force overtime, but Paul George’s midrange jumper bounced off the back of the rim as the buzzer sounded.

Monta Ellis led Indiana with 21 points, and C.J. Miles and George Hill each had 20. The Pacers have lost three straight.

Hawks 107, Pistons 100

In Atlanta, Jeff Teague scored 23 points, Paul Millsap added 18 and Atlanta beat Detroit for its fifth straight victory.

Al Horford finished with 15 points, and Dennis Schroder added 14 for the Hawks.

Andre Drummond led the Pistons with 25 points and 12 rebounds. His hook shot cut the lead to eight with 1:52 remaining, but he was called for goaltending with 41 seconds to go, pushing Atlanta back up by 10.

Nuggets 104, Suns 96

In Phoenix, Randy Foye scored a season-high 31 points, hitting seven 3-pointers in 16 attempts, and Denver bounced back from an embarrassing loss to beat slumping Phoenix.

The Nuggets, losers at home to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, bolted to a 22-point lead in the first half, withstood a second-half Suns rally and pulled away.

Darrell Arthur had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Denver, and Will Barton scored 17 points.

Brandon Knight scored 21 points, Ronnie Price had a career-high 20, including a career-best six 3-pointers in nine tries for the Suns. They have lost three in a row and five of six.

Pelicans 115, Trail Blazers 89

In New Orleans, Anthony Davis had 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead New Orleans past Portland.

Tyreke Evans nearly added a triple-double, scoring 24 points to go with nine rebounds and eight assists, and reserve Jrue Holiday had 19 points as New Orleans won two straight games for just the second time this season. C.J. McCollum had 19 points and seven assists to lead Portland.

Wizards 100, Grizzlies 91

In Washington, John Wall had 14 points and 14 assists in Washington’s victory over Memphis.

Marcin Gortat added 12 points and 12 rebounds, Garrett Temple had 20 points, Ramon Sessions 16, Jared Dudley 11 and Kelly Oubre Jr 10. Mike Conley led Memphis with 21 points.

Celtics 102, Hornets 89

In Charlotte, NC, Kelly Olynyk scored 20 points, Jae Crowder added 19 points and 12 rebounds and Boston held off Charlotte.

Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley had 18 points each for the Celtics.

Frank Kaminsky scored a season-high 23 points, and Nicholas Batum added 17 for Charlotte.
