Four people arrested for spreading rumors

KUWAIT CITY, March 21: Twenty four hours after the Attorney General, Dirar Al-Asousi, warned everyone who spread rumors under the exceptional circumstances in the country and the world, an informed source announced that the Public Prosecution office increased its efforts around the clock, and decided to issue immediate arrest warrants and summons for suspects mentioned in the reports it received from the Ministry of Interior to arrest any accused who spread rumors and lies or provokes terrors among citizens, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The source said that the Public Prosecution is paying more attention on issues of broadcasting false news regarding Corona. The source pointed out that the prosecution issued 4 orders to arrest in the past two days: the first for the accused to manage the “Zajran” account in Snapchat, and the second for those who published a rumor of digging 50 graves in Kuwait in preparation for the burial of those infected with the virus after their death, and the third for those who published false news about a large epidemic in Egypt without evidence, in addition to the fourth suspect, who spread terror among citizens, all of whom committed their crimes using social media.
