‘Four-man’ gang arrested for robbing cabbies at knifepoint

KUWAIT CITY, March 7: Police have arrested a four-man gang – 2 Syrians, and 2 bedoun – for robbing taxi drivers at knife-point, reports Al-Anba daily. A police source said the arrest came when the suspects attacked a Asian taxi driver and the latter succeeded in resisting them and screamed for help. The suspect ran for their life and he managed to catch one of them and called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry. Police rushed to the spot, seized the men and the latter guided securitymen to his three accomplices. During interrogation the men admitted to robbing 20 people although nine cases had been registered at police stations.

Car broken into: A citizen lodged a complaint against an unknown person who broke the glass of his vehicle while it was parked at the seaside near Shaab area and stole KD 200, says Al-Seyassah. He narrated to security operatives that he was surprised when he returned from a neighboring restaurant and discovered the glass of the vehicle was broken, so he checked the content and realized KD 200 had been stolen. Fingerprint was lifted by Criminal Evidences Men that arrived at the scene. A case was registered for investigation. Meanwhile, a Jordanian national told security operatives in Nugra police that an unknown person broke into his flat through the kitchen and carted away flat screen TV, camera, jewelries, laptop and mobile phones. A case was registered.
