Food authority shuts kitchen, destroys rotten edibles

KUWAIT CITY, March 10: Public Authority for Food and Nutrition launched campaigns in three governorates which resulted in the closure of a central kitchen in Ahmadi Governorate, destruction of 129 kilograms of expired food products in Hawally Governorate and issuance of a total of 98 citations. Director of Hawally Inspection Department Ali Al- Kandari explained that the campaigns held in Hawally and Maidan Hawally area resulted in the issuance of 88 citations including 31 for employing workers who did not have health certificates.

Meanwhile, a campaign was launched in Sharq, Qibla and Salhiya areas in Capital Governorate which resulted in the issuance of ten citations and 12 warnings and the signing of a pledge. In addition, General Supervisor in Ahmadi Governorate Jaza Al-Daihani explained that the campaign launched by relevant team in the governorate targeted shops and restaurants in Mahboula and Egaila area.

It resulted in the suspension of the work of eight laborers until they obtained health certificates, issuance of one citation for incompliance with regulations related to public hygiene and referral of 12 observations concerning the need to meet public hygiene regulations
