Five Kuwaitis, including two women, receive int’l ice hockey referee badges

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: Some five Kuwaitis, including two women, have been granted official ice hockey refereeing badges by the International Hockey Federation, enabling them to officiate international matches, Kuwait Winter Games Club (WGC) said on Wednesday.

Kuwait WGC Director Fehaid Al-Ajmi said the accreditation handed to Abdallah Al-Zaidan, Mohammad Al-Matrouk, Ali Al-Sarraf, Shouq Al-Handaal and Maryam Al-Deyouli, after passing all the necessary tests, is a “huge benefit to the sport of ice hockey in Kuwait.” The trust bestowed upon the five is a “source of pride for the club, and affirmation of its excellent refereeing standards,” added the club chief. He went on to wish the newly-accredited referees success in their roles. (KUNA)
