Fake policeman swindles Saudi man

KUWAIT CITY, March 2: Police are looking for an unidentified person for impersonating police and swindling a Saudi man, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to the victim the suspect claimed to be a State Security officer and under a false pretext took KD 800 from the man. The complainant told police the impersonator showed him the ID and said he had been tracking the movements of the man since day of his entry into the country. He also told the Saudi he is wanted by law and asked the man to pay KD 800 for his freedom.

The complainant added, accompanied by the suspect he went to the nearest ATM machine, withdrew the money and handed it over to him fearing he may be in problem which he did not know. A security source said that the Saudi felt that he had been subjected to fraud and told his comrades what happened with him, and they advised him to go to the security authorities.
