‘Fake police’ steals KD 9,000 from Indian

KUWAIT CITY, March 21: Police are looking for an unidentified person for impersonating police and stealing KD 9,000 from an Indian working as a representative for a tobacco company, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the suspect showed him an ID which had a Ministry of Interior logo. The suspect tied the man’s hands behind his back with a belt, robbed his money and dropped him behind a fire station. A complaint has been filed with the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station. The man reportedly entered the police station with hands tied behind his back. The Indian has given police the car plate number of the suspect.

KD 3,400 necklace stolen: Police are looking for a burglar for stealing a diamond studded gold necklace worth KD 3,400, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, CCTV footage shows the suspect breaking the façade of the shop and escaping with the necklace.

2nd medical tests for ex-MP: For the second consecutive day, former MP Musallam Al-Barrak has undergone medical tests at the Chest Diseases Hospital amid tight security, reports Al-Qabas daily. Acting Secretary General of the People’s Action Movement ‘HASHD’ Awwad Al-Nisafa said yesterday Al-Barrak makes these tests upon advice of a physician to check his heart, arteries and heart muscles.

Wheel lock broken: Police are looking for an unidentified person for damaging state property, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said a traffic policeman has filed a complaint with the Al-Naeem Police Station accusing an unidentified motorist of breaking the wheel lock which was put on the wheel because the motorist had parked the vehicle in ‘No Parking’ zone.

  ‘Procedure normal’: The Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) has denied that the most favored fish among the expats and Kuwaitis (zubaidi) is waning because of poor breeding, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting a senior official from the PAAAFR said the decrease in quantities of zubaidi fish at this time of the year is a normal phenomenon.

Military ID, cell phones stolen: A State Security police has filed a complaint with the Sabah Al-Salem Police Station, accusing a burglar of breaking the side glass of his vehicle and stealing his military ID, KD 15 cash and three cell phones, reports Al-Anba daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

 ‘Charred remains of Indian’: The Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Interior Ministry said the charred body found recently behind a petrol station in Sabah Al-Salem has been identified as that of Mokhtar Ahmad – an Indian-born in 1968. In a press statement, the department revealed its Criminal Evidence counterpart identified the victim through his fingerprints, adding he worked as a driver and he lived with his father in Farwaniya. The department went on to say that the Indian suffered from psychological disorders, indicating he committed suicide by pouring petrol all over his body and then set fire to himself.
