Ex-con runs over cop; Kuwaiti detained

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 21: An officer from Hawally Investigations Department, while carrying out his duties in Salmiya area, was run over by a vehicle driven by a man who is wanted by law for criminal cases, reports Al-Rai daily.

Kuwaiti detained: A Kuwaiti citizen was detained for investigations after he was caught in Andalous area in possession of a bunch of rings and bracelets with strange inscriptions, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, securitymen were patrolling Andalous area when they suspected a parked vehicle with an occupant. They approached the man and noticed his nervousness when they asked him for his civil ID. They checked his vehicle and found a box with the phrase “Never Touch It” inscribed on it. They opened it to find a bunch of rings and bracelets with strange inscriptions. The driver was arrested and referred with the confiscated box and accessories to the concerned authorities for investigations. Farwaniya Security Director Major General Saleh Matar demanded a report about the incident.
