European man nabbed in bid to smuggle pills & marijuana

KUWAIT CITY, March 20: Narcotics officers at Kuwait International Airport arrested a European man for trying to smuggle 100 narcotics pills and six packets of marijuana. A source from the Customs Department said a team of airport officers suspected the man when he arrived at the airport from a European country, so they searched his luggage and this led to the discovery of the contraband. The suspect was then referred to the relevant security unit. Meanwhile, officers from Farwaniya Security Command apprehended an Asian man for the possession of 80 bottles of liquor in Rigae. The officers were on duty in the area when they suspected movement of the suspect, so they decided to verify his status. He presented content of the cartons as bottles of water, but verification revealed that the bottles contained liquor for sale.

Two citizens held: Police officers from Ahmadi Governorate Security Command arrested two citizens, one of them is wanted by law for evading a 10-year jail term and the other five years. The two citizens were sentenced in drug-related cases and they were arrested during a security campaign, in addition to four other citizens wanted by law for financial cases and a woman whose sponsors filed an absconding case against her in Mahboula. They were all referred to the concerned authorities where necessary measures have been taken against them
