Ethiopian woman fights off likely rapist

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 14: Securitymen are looking for an unidentified person for kidnapping an Ethiopian woman, attempting to rape her and tearing her clothes, reports Al-Anba daily. This happened when the 26-year-old victim sought the help of the suspect to take her to the Fintas Police Station.

The suspect reportedly offered to take her to the police station and instead drove her to a desert area and tried to rape her and when the victim fought him back he tore her clothes and left her semi-naked in an open area. A case of kidnapping and attempted rape has been filed at the police station.

Absconders caught: The Jahra police recently raided the home of a bedoun who was wanted by law and had been sentenced in absentia for five years in prison has been arrested and referred to the concerned authorities, reports a local Arabic daily. In another, unrelated incident, personnel from the Ahmadi Security Department have arrested a Kuwaiti who had been sentenced in absentia to seven years imprisonment. The suspect was arrested in Fahaheel.
