KUWAIT CITY, Nov 13: Continuing its achievement-filled “Journey of Success”, the EQUATE Group, a global producer of petrochemicals, hosted a ceremony to celebrate its 20-year anniversary and the official inauguration of its new headquarters, which is located in Ahmadi, Kuwait.

With the attendance of several dignitaries, the celebration was held to coincide with the official inauguration of EQUATE Petrochemical Company on Nov 12, 1997 under the patronage of the late Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The celebration, which was titled “The Shape of Things to Come,” hosted Kuwait’s Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity & Water His Excellency Essam Al-Marzouq, the Governor of Ahmadi His Excellency Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Chairman & CEO Kuwait Petroleum Corporation of (KPC) Nizar Al-Adsani, former and current members of EQUATE’s board, as well as several other distinguished guests from Kuwait and around the globe.

Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Fawaz Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said: “It was my utmost pleasure and pride to participate in celebrating the 20th anniversary and inaugurating the new EQUATE headquarters in Ahmadi with the Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity & Water Essam Al-Marzooq, KPC CEO Nizar Al-Adsani, and EQUATE President & CEO Mohammad Husain. EQUATE is now part of the integrated industrial and economic community located in Ahmadi Governorate, enabling it to continue its path of excellence as the manifestation of Kuwait’s first international joint venture in the petrochemical sector. The happiness we felt today crowns the devoted efforts of dedicated professionals who endeavored sincerely and diligently, since we had the privilege in February 2015 to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of this national and grand headquarters, which coincided with the joy and celebrations of our national days, as well as the international recognition of our beloved Kuwait and His Highness the Amir. EQUATE begins from its new headquarters, a critical phase of its journey of success and brilliance — as a global industrial enterprise we are proud of — and a source of economic pride that embodies a distinguished partnership by all standards between renowned national and international organizations. Without any doubt, we must note the constructive and growing collaboration between EQUATE and Ahmadi Governorate, and the fruitful partnership that between us for years, hoping that it persists, evolves and flourishes. We also proudly highlight EQUATE’S numerous pioneering projects to recycle plant water, and it is the forerunner in executing social responsibility within the conglomeration of institutions within the energy sector. In conclusion, on behalf of the residents of Ahmadi Governorate, I would like to extend sincere congratulations to the leaders and employees of EQUATE.”

EQUATE’s President & CEO Mohammad Husain said, “This event is not only a celebration of past achievements. Rather it is part of EQUATE’s journey towards the future based on trust, innovation, sustainability and continuous development. EQUATE’s achievements have seen it progress from a local operator to a global producer of petrochemicals and the world’s second largest producer of ethylene glycol (EG). We look forward to continue our achievements as contributors to diversifying Kuwait’s economy, part of the country’s global petrochemical arm and one of the world’s main industrial enterprises.”

As part of the event’s activities on this special occasion, it included a movie about EQUATE’s journey and accomplishments.

In recognition of their contribution to the success of EQUATE and the overall industrial sector, tokens of appreciation were extended to His Excellency the Minister, the Governor of Al-Ahmadi, Al-Adsani, the Chairman & CEO of the Dow Chemical Company Andrew Liveries, EQUATE’s shareholders, EQUATE’s first President & CEO Charles (Chuck) Kline, as well as the former President & CEO of EQUATE Hamad Al-Terkait.
