‘Encroachments demolition in progress’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 27: Following the activation of Cabinet Decision Number 696 concerning the removal of industrial and vocational plots along the coast of Asherej located in Doha area, acting Director General of Kuwait Municipality Engineer Faisal Al- Juma disclosed that the decision has been in force since December 16.

He added the decision covers 22 industrial and vocational buildings of which 11 buildings have already been removed. He stressed the removal of buildings has been scheduled, and it will be carried out in two phases; the first phase entails the removal of unused buildings whose contracts have been terminated, and the second stage is for occupied buildings. He pointed out that licensed buildings are not counted among those encroaching on State property, and that such buildings will only be removed based on recommendations presented in an environmental study.
