‘Eight domestic workers offices shut’

KUWAIT CITY, April 1: Statistics released by the Department of Home Employment for the first quarter of 2018 states the Department has revoked the licenses of 8 domestic workers offices for not complying with the law and stopped the activity of 6 other offices for violating the law, reports Al-Anba daily.

The statistics also show the licenses of 95 other offices were cancelled over the three-year period (2016, 2017 and 2018 – until date). The statistics added the Department which is headed by Major- General Talal Ma’arafi, investigated 631 complaints, 108 of which were referred to the court, and KD 141,000 were returned to the employers. A total of 735 expatriates were repatriated voluntarily in 2018.

Girl reported missing: Police are looking for a 19-year-old girl who has been reported missing by her Kuwaiti mother, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said the report has been filed at a police station in the Capital governorate. The mother said she was involved in an argument with her daughter over a tattoo painted on her hand up to her arm. The mother added, she scolded the daughter and ordered her to remove it. The daughter got angry and left the house without her knowledge.
