Passengers allowed to be self-quarantined inside their homes

KUWAIT CITY, April 2: As soon as the ‘fifth flight’ carrying the Egyptians from Kuwait arrived at the Cairo Airport in the early hours of yesterday morning there was a state of anxiety among the passengers after it was reported that they would be taken to the ‘quarantine’ centers, which are designated for those infected with coronavirus, reports Al- Rai daily.

According to eyewitness the Egyptian plane landed in Cairo with 247 passengers, in addition to the crew members and that they were subjected to tests after arrival, without problems.

However, the passengers objected to be quarantined and demanded that they be allowed to return to their homes, and said they will be selfquarantined inside their homes and will communicate with the Ministry of Health, as happened with previous trips.

Eyewitnesses also said a number of returnees tried to demonstrate and chanted: (We will not go to quarantine… We do not want isolation), but the intervention of quarantine authorities and security men prevented the situation from getting worse following which they were subjected to strict health follow-up, after they provided their addresses to the Ministry of Health employees. He added that the returnees have signed a pledge not to venture out of their homes (quarantine) and not go out or mix with other people for 14 days.
