Egyptian singer Angham ‘silent’ on her participation in Kuwait concert

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6: Egyptian singer Angham has neither confirmed nor denied her participation in an upcoming concert to be held as part of 2016 Hala February Festival, reports Al-Rai daily. Sources close to Angham said the legal defense team and leaders of Rotana TV Channels asked her to be silent and not respond to any phone calls. She had earlier announced that she would travel to Kuwait even though an arrest warrant has been issued against her. However, Director of Rotana Company in Cairo Saed Imam revealed that Angham’s concert in Kuwait has been suspended even though the tickets have been sold out because the situation is not yet known. He stressed that the decision is within the authority of Rotana management office in Kuwait regarding whether the concert will be held or canceled.

Justice staffer abused: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for abusing a Kuwaiti employee of Ministry of Justice when the latter delivered a sentence issued by the court against another individual. According to security sources, the Kuwaiti employee filed a case at Adan Police Station, stating that he went to the house of the defendant of a case to deliver a judicial verdict when a Kuwaiti citizen living in the same house abused him. Securitymen rushed to the location and arrested the citizen. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti employee of Sabah Hospital filed a case at Shuwaikh Industrial Area Police Station against a visitor who abused him. Securitymen took necessary action.

‘87 kilo, bypass opened: General Traffic Department announced the opening of ‘87 Kilo’ bypass with two lanes on King Fahad Expressway from Sunday, Feb 7, reports Al-Seyassah daily. All vehicles are allowed to use the bypass except for trucks of height 10 meters and load of 50 tons and higher. Special approval from the concerned department is needed for such trucks to use the bypass. The department urged road-users to be cautious and adhere to the speed limits indicated through road signs. It also urged them to cooperate with the traffic police.
