Drugs gang busted

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: A gang of four individuals who tried to smuggle illicit drugs into the country via sea was arrested by Marine Border Security Sector at the General Department of Coast Guard. Public Relations and Security Media of the Interior Ministry stated the gang was located by radar of the security system while lifting substances from the regional waters that seemed to be narcotics. The suspects were arrested in possession of 103 pieces of illicit drugs and referred to concerned authorities for necessary action. Meanwhile, detectives from the General Department of Residency Affairs arrested two expatriates for forgery. The first suspect who works for the traffic department forged stamps of the department to facilitate transaction illegally with his accomplice. The duo was referred to the concerned authority after admitting the crime.

Bootleggers held: Two Asian men were arrested for running a liquor factory in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, when Farwaniya securitymen received information about two Asian men who were using their apartment to manufacture liquor, a team was formed for investigations. After confirming the information and taking necessary measures, securitymen raided the apartment and arrested the suspects as well as confiscated number of barrels of locallymanufactured liquor. When questioned, the suspects confessed that they have been running the liquor business for almost six months. They were referred with the confiscated liquor barrels to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, Farwaniya securitymen arrested a drunken Indian expatriate in Khaitan area. At the time of the arrest, he was wearing an inner vest and a lungi.
