Drugs with 3 Kuwaiti women; 10 Asians to be deported

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: Police from the Capital Governorate have arrested three Kuwaiti women 32 years old, 24 years old and 19 years old respectively for possessing and consuming narcotics, reports Annahar daily. They were picked from inside a car which was parked in the parking lot of a school in a suburb of Abdullah Al-Salem. At the time of arrest the trio was disoriented. Police have seized from them 59 narcotic tablets and referred them to the General Department for Drugs Control.

10 to be deported: The Interior Ministry has referred 10 Asians to the deportation for violating the residence law and one of them for trafficking in booze, reports Al-Rai daily. All the Asians were caught in Khaitan.

Man attempts suicide: A mentally- ill Kuwaiti citizen tried to commit suicide by drowning in Egaila area, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from an individual about a man who jumped into the sea in an attempt to commit suicide, securitymen, paramedics and 12 firefighters rushed to the location. Firefighters succeeded in convincing the citizen against committing suicide, pulled him out of the water and referred him to the police station of the area.

Fake goods seized: Customs inspectors at Shuwaikh Port intercepted large consignments of counterfeit and artificial commodities in two separate incidents. Director of Shuwaikh Port Musaed Al-Helya stated the first incident involved about five containers carrying 2984 cartons of varied commodities, including ladies handbags, makeup kits, smart phone chargers and electronic devices — all of them with fake labels.

Bootlegger nabbed: Three Asian bootleggers have been arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for legal action, Al-Shahed daily. The daily quoting security sources said police acting on a tip-off from a police agent, put an apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh under surveillance and after getting a search and arrest warrant from the Public Prosecution, raided the apartment.
