Drug trafficker resists arrest during raid

KUWAIT CITY, June 3: Officers from the General Department of Criminal Security arrested an unidentified individual in possession of drugs. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the General Department of Public Relations and Media Security explained that the officers, after receiving information about the suspect’s involvement in illegal activities, obtained a warrant from the legal authority and raided his house to discover large number of intoxicants, hashish and methamphetamine.

The suspect had resisted arrest but the officers managed to control him. They referred him with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. The department affirmed that those who carry out any actions that affect the security of the country, as well as those who are involved in smuggling and peddling of drugs will be arrested.

Meanwhile, personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department are looking for an unidentified person for impersonating police and stealing KD 7,450 from an Egyptian, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Egyptian was attacked in Fahaheel. The suspect reportedly got down from the car started beating him mercilessly and escaped with his money. The victim told police the suspect has threatened to kill him if he complained to the police. However, the victim has provided police description and information about the thief and his car.
