MP proposes cross-fertilization at public institutions

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: The CEO of the National Awareness Project for Drug Prevention Dr. Ahmed Al- Shatti stressed that the increasing volume of drug seizures confirms without doubt that drug pushers are targeting Kuwait, reports Al-Qabas daily. In this regard Al-Shatti praised the efforts of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, in advancing development, especially at the level of initiating a national campaign to combat the scourge of drugs and providing sites and clinics for treating and rehabilitating addicts in complete secrecy with the help of national and international experts in treating addicts.

Al-Shatti noted that the Minister of Health has been assigned to provide appropriate scenarios for the establishment of private clinics for the treatment of addicts, provided they use the best advanced treatment methods. He stressed that “announcing the government’s intention to establish international clinics led by specialized medical staff for behavioral and psychological rehabilitation in treating addiction patients is a good step.”

He pointed to the urgent need for such international clinics specialized in keeping in touch with those recovering from addiction, and praised the efforts exerted by the Rehabilitation and Correction Department in the Ministry of Awqaf and the development houses project and the efforts of the Finance House Center for Addiction Treatment by the Ministry of Health. The sincere decisions and visions of the wise leadership in the country reveal a new phase that carries visions of hope and optimism for sectors of promising Kuwaiti youth through the serious endeavor to protect it from the ménage of drug addiction.
