Drug abuse detector introduced

KUWAIT CITY: The Ministry of Interior has introduced a palm-sized device to detect security personnel who consume drugs, reports Al-Rai daily. According to the security sources well versed with the issue said the ministry earlier depended on the urine sample, which took ‘days’ to give the result. The new device will give the results in one minute.
The daily said the sample of saliva will be taken of the suspect and placed on the device and if the suspect is a drug addict, the device will bleep. The devices have been distributed to a number of security sectors, such as the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences and the General Department of Private Security, and are expected to be distributed among the rest of the departments soon to prevent the drug addiction among security forces
