Driving without license 24 arrested; Drug peddler nabbed, KD 15,000 seized

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: Some 24 motorists were arrested for driving without license and 31 vehicles impounded in a recent crackdown of the surrounding areas of schools in the governorate by officers from Hawalli Security Directorate based on instructions from the Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs in Ministry of Interior Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna. The traffic sector affirmed that the campaign will continue over an indeterminate period to ensure law is applied on all, while protecting the lives of pedestrians.

Drug peddler nabbed, KD 15,000 seized
An unidentified expatriate was arrested in possession of 1,600 sachets of a drug and KD 15,000 which he earned from selling drugs, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to security sources, when the Director General of General Department for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Mahmoud Al- Tabakh received information about an expatriate involved in drug trafficking, he formed a team to conduct investigations based on instructions from Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhameed Al-Awadi.

After confirming the information and taking necessary measures the suspect was arrested in possession of 1,600 sachets of a drug and KD 15,000 which he earned from selling drugs. When questioned, he confessed his involvement in drug peddling. He was referred with the drugs and money to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. General Department for Criminal Security Affairs affirmed that it will continue to exert efforts for protecting the society from such criminal activities and ensuring criminals are punished for their acts.
