In an interview on CNN, Dr. Fauci was asked if he thinks Americans will still be wearing masks in 2022, in which he responded “I think it is possible that that’s the case”.
He added “I think we’re going to have a significant degree of normality beyond what the terrible burden that all of us have been through over the last year, that, as we get into the fall and the winter, by the end of the year, I agree with the President (Joe Biden) completely that we will be approaching a degree of normality”.

“It may or may not be precisely the way it was in November of 2019, but it’ll be much, much better than what we’re doing right now”.
Meanwhile, as the coronavirus-related deaths are nearing 500,00 in the US, Dr. Fauci told NBC network in this regard “it’s terrible. It is historic. We haven’t seen anything even close to this for well over a hundred years since the 1918 pandemic of influenza”.
“This is a devastating pandemic, and it’s historic. People will be talking about this decades and decades and decades from now,” he stressed.
Furthermore, Dr. Fauci told Fox network “the slope of downward trajectory is really very good and very impressive”.

He continued “the one thing we don’t want to do is to complacent that it’s coming down so sharply that now we’re out of the woods because we are still at a baseline of daily infection that’s quite troublesome”.
This comes as the confirmed coronavirus cases nationwide reached 28,103,951 cases and at least 498,254 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University, whereas at least 63,090,600 coronavirus vaccines have been administered (KUNA) –
