Dip seen in fish prices

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: The fish market recently received an abundant supply of local fish like Sabour whose prices ranged from KD3 to KD12 per basket depending on the size; as well as Shahamiya whose prices ranged from KD13 to KD17 and Nuwaibi whose prices ranged from KD18 to KD25 per basket or KD2.5 per kilogram, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily’s staff toured the fish market, during which a vendor – Alaa Khawaja – revealed that the buyer turnout was low, only 40 percent of the usual number of buyers; indicating that most of the fish go to companies, restaurants and hotels while the price of a large basket of local shrimp reached KD100.
