Dilapidated buildings haven for menial workers

KUWAIT CITY, May 2 : Governor of the Capital region, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, has called for “organizing the status of real estate that has been more than fifty years old in the scope of the governorate, especially the Kuwait City, and the commercial, investment and service areas, through coordination and follow-up with the competent authorities so that new decisions can be issued to regulate the old and worn-out buildings that oblige owners either to renovate them or knock them down, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Al-Khaled explained, “This regulation has become a necessity due to the noticeable negligence revealed by the official authorities in the country as a result of the new coronavirus, after noting the presence of dilapidated real estate that has become a haven for workers to exploit and live in large numbers, adding that necessary measures should be taken regarding this file.
