DGCA readies airport’s T1 for summer season – Al-Fawzan

‘Establishment of logistic zone vital’

KUWAIT CITY, June 12, (KUNA): Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said Tuesday it has completed a series of improvements at the Kuwait International Airport terminal (T1) in preparation for this summer season.

DGCA’s Director General Eng Yousef Al-Fawzan, told KUNA that the improvement team, which was recently formed by the DGCA, conducts daily meetings to follow-up the work on a 24-hour basis and deals with the developments at once.

Al-Fawzan added that the DGCA has addressed airlines and service providers to prepare for the summer season and increase the number of employees to provide the best services to passengers and overcome overcrowding and facilitate the movement of passengers.

He pointed out that a new service was launched at Kuwait Airport in cooperation with NAS National Aviation Services to deliver the passengers’ luggage to their homes for a small fee. On expected passenger traffi c during the Eid Al- Fitr holiday, Al-Fawzan said it is expected to reach 208,113 passengers compared to 272,297 passengers for the same period last year
