Develop and improve quality of health services for Kuwaitis a top priority

KUWAIT CITY, March 30: Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi said on Wednesday, that the state is putting together a file to develop and improve the quality of health services provided for citizens top priority. During the Ramadan Ghabga held by the Kuwait Medical Association, Al-Awadhi affirmed keenness to provide all support to the medical staff, in a way that contributes to improving the service provided.

He praised the distinguished level of the medical staff, noting the great importance that the Ministry attaches in terms of preserving the rights of doctors, providing them with a suitable environment, and encouraging continues professional development, and also appreciating the constructive cooperation between the Ministry, the Kuwaiti Medical Association and medical professions associations.

Unlimited support
For his part, the President of the Medical Association, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Tawalah, appreciated the efforts of the Minister of Health and his unlimited support to increase admission seats in board programs at the Kuwait Institute for Specialization Medical Center (KIMS) and its support for raising the training reward for trained doctors, as it currently ranges between 300 and 500 dinars per month. Al-Tawalah said during the Ghabga that the association’s board of directors made great efforts to achieve tangible gains for all doctors.

As a result, the watch allowance was fixed and doctors were trained when they take periodic vacations. He pointed to the Association’s continuous endeavor to improve the features, as well as to reconsider the pricing of overtime for doctors, which was set based on the cadre of 1993 and not the cadre of 2010. Noting that the association submitted a technical and legal proposal regarding the entitlement of the Kuwaiti doctor to the rates of infection, danger, screen and pollution. He mentioned that proposals with advantages and allowances have been put in place to attract Kuwaiti doctors to work in remote areas. (KUNA)
