Cybercrimes top ‘lawsuits’ tackled by judiciary: report

KUWAIT CITY, April 27: A recent statistic released by the Public Prosecution revealed high rate of cybercrimes ahead of various other cases handled and acted upon by the judiciary. The total number of cases recorded in January and February were 2,041, out of which 521 cases – about 27.5 percent – are related to cybercrimes.

According to the statistic, the 521 cybercrime cases were recorded and dealt with within those two months along with 459 commercial crimes, 207 cases related to dud cheques, 162 for drug addiction, 109 juvenilerelated cases, 18 cases concerning journalism and only three audiovisual cases, representing 0.2 percent of the entire cases.
