Customs seizes 2 liquor bottles, 80 drug pills from Egyptian woman

liquorKUWAIT CITY, June 4: An Egyptian woman was arrested at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle two liquor bottles and 80 narcotic pills into the country. According to sources, customs officers at the airport suspected the woman after she arrived at the airport from Egypt. They checked her luggage and found two liquor bottles and 80 narcotic pills. She was arrested and referred with the illicit items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Bid to cut drug-tied crimes: Under the direct patronage of the Cabinet, a number of ministries have been coordinating to launch a large campaign for controlling drugs and psychotropic substances following an increase in drug-related crimes, the recent of which was the murder of a young girl by her drug-abusing parents in Salmiya area, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.

They reiterated that coordination is underway among Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information and a number of concerned and specialized societies to launch the campaign for spreading awareness about the dangers of drugs and the treatments available for drug addiction.
