CROWN PRINCE RESTS HOPE ON DIRECT INVESTMENT AUTHORITY – Amir stresses need to attract capital

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday called for luring capital into the country to help diversify the economy and create job opportunities.

His Highness the Amir emphasized the necessity of taking action to attract capital, diversify the national economy, create job opportunities and boost businesses in the State.

His Highness the Amir made these remarks as he hosted, at Bayan Palace, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Dr Yousef Mohammad Abdullah Al-Ali, accompanied by General Director of the investment authority, Sheikh Dr Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Board members.

The authority’s offi cials delivered to His Highness the Amir the 2015 KDIPA annual report. Minister Al-Ali presented His Highness with latest accomplishments by the authority, namely with respect to stimulating local and external investments, in addition to the continuous work for creating new economic opportunities toward sustainable development.

The authority had been established with aim of attracting external investments. The move had been coupled with diverse and attractive administrative and legal facilities. Meanwhile, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday expressed hope that Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) would play a crucial role in bolstering Kuwait’s economic status.

His Highness the Crown Prince expressed his aspiration in this respect during a reception of Minister of Commerce and Industry and KDIPA Chairman Dr Yousef Mohammad Abdullah Al-Ali, accompanied by Director General of the investment authority, Sheikh Dr Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Board members.

The authority’s officials delivered to His Highness Sheikh Nawaf the 2015 KDIPA annual report and briefed him about its accomplishments as well as future strategies. His Highness lauded their efforts, expressing hope the authority would contribute to strengthening Kuwait’s economic status, in line with the State strategy of attaining economic diversification for sake of speedy growth and multiplying income resources. KDIPA was established to lure external investments into the country.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah commended Ministry of Interior (MoI) officials on Wednesday for their diligent efforts at upholding the nation’s security and stability.

His Highness the Amir received at Bayan Palace Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, MoI Undersecretary Sulaiman Al-Fahad and Director General of General Investigation Dr Fahad Al-Doussari. Moreover, the three officials introduced to His Highness the Amir Major General Asaad Abdul Rahman Al-Ruwaih and public prosecutors Jamal Al- Reesh and Fareaa Emadi, who have been assigned as deputies to the Director General of Investigation. Furthermore, Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khaled vowed that the MoI would spare no effort to repel all threats to the country’s peace and security.
