COVID Deaths and infections increases; 20 deaths 1,993 newly infected

KUWAIT CITY, Jul 6: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Tuesday said that 1,993 people were infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours, bringing the total infected cases to 367,642. Some 1,887 people recovered from the disease in the same period, pushing the total recoveries up to 346,993, Ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA. The death toll from the virus climbed to 2,049 after registering 20 mortalities, including 19 unvaccinated, in the corresponding period, he stated. He estimated the number of active cases at 18,600, including 310 occupants of intensive care units. Medical swabs conducted in 24 hours hit 14,850, taking the total to 3,064,191, he said, indicating that the ratio between recoveries to swabs is 13.42 percent today. He renewed calls for nationals and expatriates alike to abide by health precautions to curb the spread of the virus.
