KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: The Civil Cases Section chaired by Judge Fahd Al-Brazi a Kuwaiti doctor at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) to pay two of his colleagues KD 2,000 for making scathing accusations against them by SMS sent to the social networking application WhatsApp.

Attorney Abdullah Al-Kandari filed a petition on behalf of the plaintiffs who occupy prominent positions as doctors in PAAET, accusing the defendant of sending his clients messages containing allegations against them. He requested civil compensation of KD 5,001 each for the plaintiffs based on material and moral damages they suffered.

Earlier, the Misdemeanor Court fined the defendant KD 50 for abuse and misuse of telephone but the Misdemeanor Court of Appeals amended the verdict and refrained from announcing penalty, without bail bond. He was made to sign a pledge of good conduct for one month.
