The officer agreed to let him go, however pursued him again when he noticed his recklessness and demanded him to stop but the Kuwaiti refused fearing his car will be impounded and license withdrawn.

Lawyer Muhammad Al-Otaibi said the Forensic report did not find trace of alcohol in the blood samples of his client.

Jail term reduced: The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Nasser Salem Al Heid overturned the verdict issued by the Criminal Court which sentenced a youth to life imprisonment for killing an individual by running his vehicle over the latter and breaking his bones.

The court instead reduced the jail term of the first defendant to ten years. The Public Prosecution charged the first suspect with running his vehicle over the victim. Reportedly, a quarrel broke out between the suspect, his brother and the victim near a café in Sulaibiya area. During the quarrel, the suspect ran his vehicle over the victim.

The Public Prosecution charged the suspect’s brother with beating the victim, and the third suspect with insulting the victim. Earlier, the Criminal Court sentenced the first suspect to life imprisonment and the second to five-year imprisonment and bail bond of KD 200.
