KUWAIT CITY, March 21: The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Salah Al-Jari has ordered Kuwait Oil Company to pay KD 60,000 to one of its employees after deducting this amount from his salary as the cost of social security. During the court session, lawyer Bushra Al-Hendal stressed that the company does not have the right to take the cost of social security from her client as the employers are responsible for paying this amount as per the relevant law of the Public Institution for Social Security.

Verdict cancelled: The Court of Cassation canceled a verdict by the First Instance Court, which sentenced a suspect to six months in prison with hard labor for stealing his friend’s personal possessions. The court presided over by Judge Mohammed Khalaf acquitted the defendant of charges leveled against him. Representing the defendant, Attorney Ayed Al-Rasheedi argued in court that his client was innocent of allegation, while the prosecuting officer could not present any proof to incriminate his client.
